THERE’S A BRIEF CHUCKLE THAT ESCAPES the back of her throat, amused by her kind set of words. it was not something she wasn’t used to hearing from others. mako was always known as a very driven woman, perfectionist to an obsessive degree. when she desired to better herself, she worked hard at it, relentlessly tough on herself until she was satisfied with her progress. the problem with that mindset was that she was RARELY content with her progress, so it leaves her little time to really stop   &   allow her body the break it needs. she understands the necessity for a break, but she truly doesn’t know the meaning of the word. kind eyes meet the woman’s for a moment, offering her a warm smile of gratitude. “   i appreciate your concern,   “ she began slowly, slightly wincing as her hands radiated pain. rough   &   calloused from constantly wielding a wooden staff in her hands. “   but i’m nowhere near ready to take a break. not just yet.   “
